Frequently Asked Questions

An aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between width and height. It is expressed as two numbers separated by a colon (e.g., 16:9). It describes the shape of a rectangle without specifying its actual size.
16:9 is the most common widescreen aspect ratio, used by most monitors, TVs, and YouTube videos. Common resolutions include 1920×1080 (Full HD), 2560×1440 (QHD), and 3840×2160 (4K UHD).
If you know the aspect ratio and one dimension, divide the known dimension by its ratio component and multiply by the other. For example, for 16:9 with width 1920: height = 1920 × (9/16) = 1080.
Instagram supports 1:1 (square, 1080×1080), 4:5 (portrait, 1080×1350), and 1.91:1 (landscape, 1080×566). Stories and Reels use 9:16 (1080×1920).
